- Bright but filtered; harsh afternoon sun burns the foliage.
- Water
- Even moisture with soft water (rain water if possible). Never let dry out at flowering.

- Acidic kanuma or ericaceous mix — standard bonsai soil will starve it.

- Acidic / ericaceous feed; pause through flowering, resume after.

- Outdoor through warm months; shelter from frost.
